Rebuilding Together North Central Florida (RTNCF) hosts a variety of volunteers all year long. There are many ways to get involved with RTNCF’s home repair efforts. Check out the information below for more on how you can participate.
Click the “Volunteer Sign Up” link below to give us information about yourself and your interests in volunteering. Volunteers can get involved in many ways- please be as specific as possible when filling out the form and we will look to find the BEST place for you to plug in.
Pick up a hammer and come volunteer with us on site. We can take work site volunteers in a group or as individuals. Projects mainly happen on weekends, but we can be flexible with dates as well. Our most common volunteer experience asks volunteer groups to “Adopt-a-Project”, helping to see it through from beginning to end, and appointing “team leaders” to be involved in the entire process.
1. Who can volunteer?
Anyone older than 14 years and graduated from the 8th grade is welcome to volunteer with Rebuilding Together. Volunteers under the age of 18 must have one responsible adult per 5 volunteers on site at all times.
2. When are the projects?
Projects usually run on Saturdays, but we can also schedule opportunities during other times of the week, including Sunday–contact our staff for special arrangements.
3. Do I need construction experience?
You do not need any construction experience in order to volunteer with RTNCF. Our staff will teach you everything you need to know for your project. We will find a spot where we can best utilize you.
4. Can I just show up on Saturday?
No. We ask all of our volunteers to sign up for a date ahead of time. This helps us to plan projects more efficiently and makes for a better volunteer experience.
5. Do I need to sign a release?
Yes. Every volunteer who participates with Rebuilding Together must sign a Volunteer Statement Of Liability Release form which can be obtained online, picked up from our office, or signed on your volunteer date. Volunteers under the age of 18 must have a release signed by a parent or guardian. Release forms are valid for one year.
Please read our volunteer “Expectations, Rules and Regulations” before your scheduled volunteer date.
6. What if I do not want to do construction?
There are MANY ways to get involved with Rebuilding Together that do not involve construction. Tell us how you would like to volunteer and we will help you find a place to plug in. Here are a few ideas: donating food for volunteers, office help, fundraising, marketing, organizing, and more…
