Critical Home Repair

Rebuilding Together North Central Florida’s Critical Home Repair Program keeps our neighbors safe and healthy in their own homes. This program focuses on critical repairs prioritized based on the 25-point Health and Safety checklist developed in partnership with the National Center for Healthy Housing. Repairs are made by a combination of volunteer efforts and subcontracted professionals.

Emergency Home Repair

Rebuilding Together NCF is deeply connected to our community and strives to improve the safety and health of our neighbors. The Emergency Repair Program was developed during the COVID-19 pandemic as an effort to address specific urgent repair needs that would otherwise hinder someone’s ability to live safely in their home. These repairs or replacements include major roof or plumbing leaks, electrical hazards, HVAC systems, and accessibility customizations necessary for safety or quality of life--such as ramps, grab bars, and modifications of showers, tubs and toilets. Following the successful implementation of this program, we received enough positive feedback to intend to keep the Emergency Repair Program as a regular service.

Energy Efficiency

Rebuilding Together NCF partners with a number of other local organizations to decrease energy and water consumption for our low-income neighbors who are most adversely affected by utility costs through a collaborative effort with the Community Weatherization Coalition. Safe at Home - Levy County

We are excited to announce that Rebuilding Together NCF has expanded their services into Levy County! The RTNCF's pilot program for Levy County, Safe at Home, provides no-cost preventive home modifications to people with mobility issues and other disabilities to improve accessibility, reduce falls, increase independence and facilitate aging-in place. Rental Program

The Alachua County Energy Efficiency Program (ACEEP) is designed to help reduce utility costs for low-income tenants by creating a fund to improve the energy efficiency of rental units. The program aims to alleviate the financial burden of energy efficiency upgrades from landlords, ensuring that tenants do not bear the costs. The program allows participants to request various home upgrades, such as better attic insulation, new air-conditioners, and energy-efficient appliances. Each rental unit can receive a maximum of $15,000 in upgrades. Property owners who participate must agree to maintain the affordability of the unit for a specific period, depending on the amount of the award. Like the state-funded SHIP Program, removing the home from the affordable housing rental market before the end of the affordability commitment will require a refund of the award amount. Because the affordability commitment is a payback condition, the award is considered a zero-interest, forgivable loan and takes the form of a second mortgage, in the same way as other state and federal home improvement programs.
