Rebuilding Together CapacityCorps

 Rebuilding Together CapacityCorps program, is a partnership between Rebuilding Together and the AmeriCorps program.  CapacityCorps assigns  full-time AmeriCorps members to serve in a number of Rebuilding Together affiliates in several states across the country, including RTNCF.  We currently have two AmeriCorps members serving with our affiliate. RD Bonner, AmeriCorps Member – Volunteer Coordinator

RD is a 2009 graduate of the University of Florida with a Bachelor’s degree in English.  Following graduation he spent ten months travelling the northeastern United States with the AmeriCorps NCCC program working on various projects. Following his year of service, he made his way back to Gainesville, Florida where he was delighted to find an AmeriCorps position allowing him to put his skills and experiences to good use right here in Alachua County connecting volunteers with projects helping to preserve affordable homeownership.

Heather Platter, AmeriCorps Member – Energy Coordinator

Heather Platter was born and grew up in Pompano Beach, Florida. She graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Family, Youth, and Community Sciences.  She is currently a student in UF’s Masters of Science in FYCS and UF’s Masters of Public Health with a focus on Social and Behavioral Sciences. She is set to graduate in Spring 2012. Heather has an immense passion for volunteering and has worked with several non-profit organizations throughout Florida. Heather’s role is to communicate and work with homeowners and volunteers in the CWC.
